Our catering service is provided by Mellors Catering Service who is an award-winning family business.

Established in 1840 as a local bakery, it’s now a leading caterer for staff restaurants, schools, and colleges.

Offering an unrivaled bespoke service, Mellors develops tailored menus to meet the tastes and dietary requirements of all students, and look after all aspects of on-site catering.

Committed to delivering an exciting and affordable choice of food, they use only the finest, freshest ingredients from local suppliers – which means better quality food.

Mellors’ innovative and creative Food Development team is headed by a Head Nutritionist, aided by a second Nutritionist, and two Executive and Training Chefs. Together, they continually develop the quality of service and food on-site, ensuring all recipes are nutritious, exciting, and compliant.

The Menus

Students can buy sandwiches and wraps at break time, and a selection of hot food at lunch. Hot nutritional meals include fish, chicken, burgers, wraps, pasta, curry, jacket potatoes, chips, rice and sausage rolls. We also serve sandwiches, fruit, cake, cookies and drinks.

Students can bring their own packed lunch, or buy food from the canteen.

The purchase of food is via a cashless system – ParentPay.

Parents can upload money to ParentPay, or students can upload money using machines in the academy during the school day. Students then pay for food at break, or lunch, using a fingerprint or PIN number (this unique PIN is set up for students when they start in Year 7).

Does your child have a registered allergy or intolerance?

Mellors Catering Services make a commitment to you, the parent, that we will provide a meal for any child with a registered allergy or intolerance for the lifetime of your child’s education with us. Please contact the school for a parent registration form to let us know about your child’s needs.
