In Computer Science, students will learn about computer processes, data and how to use a range of software. Students will gain an understanding of how to use technology safely, respectfully, responsibly, and securely, including protecting their online identity and privacy; recognise inappropriate content, contact and conduct and know how to report concerns.
In KS4 students will be introduced to the central processing unit (CPU), computer memory and storage, wired and wireless networks, network topologies, system security and system software. Students will explore ethical, legal, cultural and environmental concerns associated with computer science. They will also develop skills and understanding in computational thinking: algorithms, programming techniques, producing robust programs, computational logic, translators and data representation.
