Studying children’s play, learning and development gives students the opportunity to gain an understanding of how children grow and develop whilst gaining a broad knowledge of the early years sector and how play is used to promote child development.

Play is an important way of supporting children’s development. There are many ways that early years settings promote a range of play opportunities to help develop learning.
UNIT 3: THE PRINCIPLES OF EARLY YEARS PRACTICE
Early years settings can vary, such as, nurseries and childminders, but they still work on the same principles -to ensure that each child is supported and benefits from the opportunities within the early years setting.
